Commerce Early Access in progress

Last month we started early access testing for Commerce, our soon to be released ecommerce Extra. A total of 27 testers have received access to the Commerce alpha since January 9th, and we're getting some great feedback. I'm sending out more invites in the next couple of days which will push the total over 40.

During the alpha testing, the focus is on figuring out if the vision for Commerce matches the "real world", and how we need to prioritise the remaining work. The primary features from cart all the way through fulfilment are in place, and based on the feedback we'll continue to make the features more powerful, flexible, and allow more advanced uses out of the box.

I expect to promote Commerce to beta around late February/March. There's still some important work to be done, but it's looking rather promising. The focus during the beta will be on finding (and fixing) bugs, increasing test coverage, adding features that are still missing, and making sure everyone that signed up is invited to try it before the official launch.

Commerce should be stable and ready for production in April-May. To celebrate, I'm organising a little event in Amsterdam around that time, so keep an eye out for an invitation in our newsletter.
