Legal Updates
After being in business for 14 years, it's time for some housekeeping and administrative updates.
As of February 19th, the official registered business name is now modmore, replacing the former registered business, name Mark Hamstra Web Development. As modmore was already a registered trading name, nothing much changes aside from dropping the old name.
Back in the day, freelance work was the primary goal and I'm grateful for the opportunities and recognition that my name has gotten in the community. But these days, in addition to the licenses and support, all MODX freelance and consulting style work falls under the modmore brand, so making that the primary business name better reflects that, and allows me to get a little more personal privacy.
modmore, SiteDash, and various other non-MODX initiatives that fall under the business all continue to have their own registered trading names, falling under the same business registration 52454606.
The correspondence address has also changed as of February 20th to a P.O. Box:
Mark Hamstra
Tijnjedyk 19
Unit 8531
8934 BT, Leeuwarden
The Netherlands
The previous address, still included on invoices, continues to be valid and the registered address with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce. As it is however a private address, we'll be taking advantage of a recent change in Dutch law that allows sole proprietorships to shield that address from the public registry as long as an alternative correspondence address (like a P.O. Box) is available. Again, this just gives me a little more privacy on a personal level.
These changes do not affect the company's ownership, your contracts, or our products/services, however you will notice these changes on your future invoices, on certain payments (although those typically already refer to the trading name, like modmore or SiteDash), the name on our bank account, and so on.
In light of these changes, you may want to update your administrative records; particularly if those refer to Mark Hamstra Web Development instead of the modmore trading name.
