Watch the video below, or keep scrolling, to find out what's new in this amazing release.

New Features

Let's start off by taking a look at some of the new input types!

It is now possible to add links as a standalone field wherever you may need them.

The best part about this new link input type? It not only supports external links and emails, but it also has forward searching capabilities so you can easily browse the resources on your site and link to them without having to look through your resource tree.

File Attachments

Wouldn't it be great if you could just drag in a file and it would automatically link to it as an attachment? Well now you can!

The best part about the new file attachment field is you can upload as many attachments as you need in a single field.

Repeater Fields

This is a big new feature! Repeater fields are customizable groups of inputs that you can define however you'd like, and when adding items, you can simply click to add a new item. You can add any type of input to a Repeater, even nested layouts or other repeaters!

Plus, all of the repeater items are easy to sort and delete.

Repeater fields are great for common repeated items such as testimonials, sliders, team members, events and more.

Default Templates

Now you can easily create default templates to set up default content on new resources!

Just drag and drop your fields and layouts to your desire to create a template, define the constraints under the new "Defaults" tab, and the next time you create a new resource you're ready to go immediately.

Wouldn't it be great if you could just add a link to an image, without having to define a whole new field? Well, the new Link input is also available as a setting for both fields and layouts.

Plus, you can decide to expose them as a regular field option on the ContentBlocks canvas, or neatly tuck them away under the settings icon so the option to add a link will only appear in the modal window.

And yes, there's more...

  • New optional link field to gallery items
  • New link button added to TinyRTE to use the new link input functionality
  • New [[+unique_idx]] placeholder to layouts and fields with a really unique idx
  • New cbGetFieldContent snippet, which allows accessing specific fields from the ContentBlocks canvas
  • New settings to specify a custom icon url outside the ContentBlocks directory.
